Nordic Online Conference: Gender-based Hate, Threat and Harassment on the Internet
10-11 June 2021
Invitation to a Conference
on Gender-based Hate, Threat and Harassment on the Internet
10 -11 June 2021

Gender-based online hate, threat and harassment form a problem that all the Nordic countries are struggling with. The phenomenon is connected to several other challenges in our societies and threatens gender equality, democracy and the freedom of speech.

In conjunction with the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2021 Finland hosts a virtual conference aiming to recognize good practices and concrete measures for the prevention of gender-based online hate and harassment and its negative consequences for both individuals and the society.

The conference is targeted to Nordic and Baltic experts, authorities, decision-makers and NGOs.
The discussion will be based on recent analyzes, reports and seminars arranged in the Nordic countries and deepened by a broad range of experts from the region.
