EIGE: Gender Equality Index 2020
EIGE will reveal the new scores for gender equality in the EU and show trends over time during an online event on 29 October. Decision-makers and experts will discuss the findings of the Gender Equality Index and areas for improvement, especially around decision-making.

Digitalisation has led to the emergence of new types of jobs organised through online applications – commonly known as platform work. These can include ride-hailing services, food delivery or household cleaners. Who is doing these jobs? Do they help or hinder gender equality?

Digitalisation has made our lives better in many ways but there is also a darker side. This panel will bring to light some of the gender equality concerns brought by technology. These range from rising cyber violence against women and girls, to human rights violations, and gender bias in Artificial Intelligence.
