Gender and Science: 7,5 credits
The aim of the course is to illuminate how gender intersects with science knowledge, communities and practices. The seminars will work through different places in which gender dimensions impact science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The course provides an introduction to gender theory as well as an introduction to critical studies of science, where learners will engage in co-development of knowledge through peer-to-peer learning. The course prepares learners for thinking about gender moving beyond a focus on only women to multiple genders and gendering practices.

The examination will be to articulate a gender dimension of science work, and propose an intervention or activity. This will support doctoral students in thinking about ‘gender dimension’ components of future research proposals to the Swedish Research Council, the EU or other funding bodies.

The course is open to PhD students at all faculties.
