Second LERU Gender Conference at the University of Zurich 14-15 June 2018
The conference will on the one hand serve to disseminate and discuss the recently launched LERU paper "Implicit bias in academia: a challenge to the meritocratic principle and to women's careers - and what to do about it" with a large audience representing various stakeholders. On the other hand it will serve to explore and illuminate the phenomenon of bias and its effects on research-performing organizations and on the people within them.
Some of Europe's leading researchers in bias will speak at the conference, which also comprises other formats such as a panel discussion and an interactive theater performance that shows how drama can drive institutional change. Moreover, conference participants have the opportunity to present their own bias projects. Perhaps this would be good opportunity to present some of the gender equality activities from within your institution, and to get new impulses from others?
